Migrating Garden project sprouts from the artist's interest in plants and propagation, her life experience and biculturalism. She propagates plants in her house and in her yard in pots which later form a transportable garden. This ‘migrating garden’ is then relocated to a foreign environment. In this case, the garden migrates to the surface of water. Its alienation, and in the same time omnipresence, is what distinguishes immigrants.

Like people, plants are cross-border travelers subject to the similitude of naturally occurred and invented rules, laws and regulations. Salimova views plants as migrants as we are in this world.
